Dry cleaning
In order to maintain silk scarves and silk accessories in the best possible shape and condition, we strongly encourage our clients to dry cleaned them.
Choose a reputable dry cleaner experienced in handling delicate fabrics such as silk and cashmere.
Kind reminder: Please see the Ironing section.
Storage
- Store your silk scarf or shawl in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Avoid hanging silk items for long periods, as this can cause stretching. Instead, fold them neatly and store them flat to maintain their shape.
- We strongly recommend storing silk scarves in Anaspero's red boxes that are especially designed to protect them from the Sun, dust and moisture. Our red boxes are dedicated to our clients who wish to build unique collection of Anaspero's scarves.
Ironing
- If ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting on your iron and place a clean cloth between the iron and the silk to prevent direct contact. Always move the iron in gentle, smooth motions.
- Instead of ironing, you may consider steaming your scarves to remove wrinkles and refresh the fabric. Hold the steamer at a safe distance to prevent direct contact, and gently pass it over the scarf. This method is much gentler and effective for maintaining the integrity of the fabric.
Kind reminder: Never iron the edges of the hand-rolled scarves. The beauty of the hand-rolled scarves is in the rounded shape of the edges.
Avoiding snags & abrasions
- Be cautious when wearing jewelry or accessories that may catch on the delicate silk fibers.
- Avoid rubbing silk against rough surfaces to prevent snags and abrasions.
Fragrance & perfume
- Avoid spraying perfume directly onto silk, as the alcohol content can cause discoloration.
- Allow perfume to dry completely before wearing your silk scarf or shawl.
